Wigan Athletic: Martinez wants home improvement - ClubCall.com

Roberto Martinez believes Wigan will need to significantly improve their home form if they are to once again avoid relegation.

Despite some impressive results on the road, the Latics have won just twice at the DW Stadium so far this term and are currently only out of the bottom three on goal difference.
The Lancashire side have continuously struggled over the last few seasons and their problems have seen them once again tipped to be fighting relegation come the business end of the campaign.
Wigan host Sunderland on Saturday in the first of their eight remaining home fixtures and punters may look to use their free bet to back Roberto Martinez's men to claim a vital three points against the Black Cats.
The Spaniard is understandably keen for his side to improve and has now urged his players to start picking up points at the DW to make sure they don't find themselves in the same situation as in recent seasons.
"Obviously our away performances and results have been good enough," said the 39-year-old. "We have been competitive and if you look at the last three performances, including the FA Cup, it is not easy to be consistent away from home and we have done that.
"That is something that now we need to take into the home form. There are only eight games left at the DW Stadium.
"They are eight finals, eight incredibly important events for us to get as many points as we can," he added.
